Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 20, 2025. We respect your privacy and are transparent about how your data is used.

Pressure Control ("we", "our", or "us") is developed by Hipolito Arias, based in Spain. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our iOS application, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using Pressure Control, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Data We Collect

We collect two categories of data: information you provide directly and information collected automatically.

Automatically Collected Data

  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Session duration and feature usage patterns
  • Crash reports and diagnostic information
  • Anonymous device identifiers (not linked to your identity)

Information You Provide

  • Blood pressure readings you manually log
  • Notes and context you add to your measurements
  • App preferences and settings you configure

2. HealthKit & Health Data

Your Health Data Stays on Your Device

Health data read from HealthKit is processed and displayed locally on your device. We do not upload or store your raw health data on our servers. All HealthKit access follows Apple's guidelines and your explicit permissions set in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

3. AI-Powered Insights (OpenAI)

Pressure Control offers an optional AI feature that generates personalized weekly wellness reports using OpenAI's language models. Optional

Explicit Consent Required

This feature is disabled by default. It is only activated when you explicitly enable it in the app settings and agree to the associated terms. It requires an active Premium subscription. You can withdraw your consent and disable the feature at any time in Settings > AI Reports > Disable.

What data is sent to OpenAI?

When the AI feature is active, we send a structured, anonymized summary of your health trends to OpenAI's API. The data sent does not include:

  • Your name, email address, or any personal identifier
  • Device identifiers or account information
  • Raw or timestamped individual health readings
  • Location data

What is sent consists of aggregated, statistical summaries, for example:

  • Average systolic / diastolic blood pressure for the week
  • Average resting heart rate
  • Weekly HRV trend (improving / stable / declining)
  • Average sleep duration and sleep quality score
  • Average daily steps and exercise minutes

OpenAI Data Processing

The anonymized health summaries are processed by OpenAI in accordance with their privacy policy. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's Privacy Policy to understand how they handle API data. OpenAI states that data submitted via the API is not used to train their models by default.

4. Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use Firebase services provided by Google to improve app stability and understand usage patterns:

  • Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and diagnostic logs to help us identify and fix bugs. No health data is included in crash reports.
  • Firebase Analytics — collects anonymized usage events (e.g., which screens are visited, how often features are used). No personally identifiable information is collected.

You can review Google's privacy practices at Google Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers — Firebase (Google) for crash reporting and analytics, and OpenAI only when you have explicitly enabled AI reports.
  • Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or government regulation.
  • Business Transfers — In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Your Consent — We may share data with third parties when you have explicitly authorized us to do so.

6. Data Retention & Security

Your health data remains entirely on your device and within Apple's HealthKit ecosystem — we do not store it on our servers. Anonymized usage and crash data from Firebase is retained for up to 14 months, consistent with Google's default retention policies.

We apply industry-standard security measures to protect all data we handle. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Pressure Control is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not store personally identifiable data on our servers, your rights are exercised primarily through built-in controls in the app and in iOS:

  • Delete Local Data — You can delete all data logged in the app directly from the app's settings.
  • Withdraw AI Consent — Disable AI reports at any time from Settings > AI Reports without affecting any other functionality.
  • Revoke HealthKit Access — Remove the app's access to health data in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.
  • Firebase Data — Because it is collected anonymously, it cannot be linked to an individual user. For more information, contact Google through their privacy policy.
