Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 2026. We are committed to transparency about how we handle your data.

Overview

Howl Werewolf ("we", "us", or "our") is an independent iOS app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it when you use our iOS application ("the App").

We take your privacy seriously. We do not collect, store, or process any personal data ourselves. We do not require account creation and the App functions fully without you sharing any personal information with us directly.

Data We Collect

We do not directly collect personal data. However, the third-party services integrated in the App may collect limited, anonymized data as described below:

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, health data, financial information, or any other personal information.

Firebase Analytics

The App uses Firebase Analytics provided by Google LLC to understand how players interact with the game. Firebase Analytics collects:

This data is used exclusively for improving the App experience. It is processed by Google according to the Google Privacy Policy. No personally identifiable information is sent to Firebase Analytics.

You can learn more about Firebase data practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Google AdMob & Advertising

The free version of the App displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID) to show personalized ads, subject to your consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.

AdMob data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can manage your ad preferences through your device settings under Privacy > Tracking.

Multiplayer & Networking

Multiplayer functionality uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework, which enables peer-to-peer communication directly between devices on the same local network (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth).

Multiplayer is entirely peer-to-peer. Your game data never leaves your local network and is not accessible to us.

In-App Purchases

The App offers one non-consumable in-app purchase: "Remove Ads" for $5.99. This purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store.

No Account Required

Howl Werewolf does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use the App. You can play fully anonymously.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ on the App Store and is designed to be family-friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

Since we do not collect personal data ourselves, there is no risk of inadvertently collecting children's data through our own services. Third-party services (Firebase Analytics, AdMob) have their own policies regarding children.

If you believe your child has inadvertently provided personal information, please contact us via our support page.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services:

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective policies.

Data Retention

Since we do not operate servers or databases, we do not retain any user data ourselves. Third-party services retain data according to their own policies:

In-game data (chat messages, votes, game state) exists only in device memory during active gameplay and is discarded when the session ends. No game data is stored persistently.

User-Generated Content

The App includes an in-game chat feature during day phases and wolf team communication during night phases. All chat messages:

You are solely responsible for the content of your messages. Do not share personal, sensitive, or inappropriate information through the in-game chat. The Developer does not monitor, moderate, or have access to chat content, as all communication is peer-to-peer.

Your Rights

Since we do not store personal data, there is typically nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. However, you have the following rights:

European Economic Area, UK & Switzerland (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data held by third-party services on our behalf. You also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing (via third-party services) is legitimate interest in improving the App and serving relevant advertisements, subject to your ATT consent.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. The categories of information collected by third-party services are limited to device identifiers and anonymized usage data as described in this policy. You may exercise your rights by contacting us through our support page.

For any data rights requests, please contact us via our support page. We will respond within 30 days and coordinate with relevant third-party providers as needed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
